What is Texas Family First?

Texas Family First is a prevention program serving children and families in Texoma and Big Country. This innovative program supports Texas families by giving them the tools to help them remain safely intact and prevent children from entering the foster care system. By providing greater access to mental health services and improved parenting skills, the Texas Family First program aims to increase the number of children who can remain at home with their families. Courts now have additional options when making decisions about placements and out-of-home care.

Evidence-Based Support For Families

Texas Family Initiative (TFI) 2INgage’s innovative program uses evidence-based models to help families stay together safely. These research-backed models are:

  • Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
  • Motivational Interviewing (MI)
  • Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI)
  • Functional Family Therapy (FFT)
  • Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT)
